Far from “plain old,” our vanilla explodes with sensual, heady aromas because, without air added, the luxurious, floral notes fill every available cubic inch of flavor space. Though our most expensive ingredient to source, Madagascar-origin vanilla is simply the best. It takes the vanilla orchid five years to produce mature seed pods. Picked ripe, the pods are green and go through an arduous four-month process of curing and drying before they take on their familiar slick, black form. The pods are then split and seeds scraped out for use in culinary applications like our ACME Ultra-Premium Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
