POP! BUBBLES AND SEAFOOD:
ACME Ultra Premium Ice Cream made its Seattle debut at The Sanctuary where Pop! Bubbles and Seafood, one of three Seattle Wine and Food Experience events, was held the weekend of February 21-23, 2019. Guests obviously enjoyed the refreshing diversion from wine vendors, often coming back for a second mini two-ounce cone of our Mint Chocolate Chip, Espresso, Strawberry & Vanilla Bean. All in all, we dipped close to 900 scoops and were delighted by guest feedback. Look out, Seattle -- here comes the best of Bellingham.
SEATTLE MAGAZINE BRUNCH RUN 5K:
Runners earned their breakfast (and dessert!) at this 5K held on a sunny April 21, 2019 at Magnuson Park. The annual event includes an Easter egg hunt, with proceeds benefiting Northwest Harvest. After the run, participants refreshed themselves in the Beer and Mimosa Garden, with snacks from vendors, and enjoyed samples of our newly minted Quarter Pounder Mini Cups -- individual two-ounce cups -- that come in vanilla bean, strawberry, dark chocolate, and mint chip flavors. We also rolled out our hot new branded ice cream trike with matching umbrella and pop-up tent.
ACME Ultra Premium Ice Cream took flavor pairings to a new high at Lamb Jam held on May 19, 2019, at the Seattle Design Center. With our VIP tent booth, we did a riff on the classic caviar-creme fraiche-blini combo creating a custom creme fraiche-lemon zest ice cream for the event. We scooped our ice cream onto waffle cone cookie wafers and topped each bite with glistening pearls of American Choupique Bowfin Caviar, and served these decadent treats on real silver trays. It didn’t hurt that our booth was located next to the Champagne kiosk -- talk about serendipity! Downstairs on the main floor, we rubbed elbows with the 16 talented Seattle chefs that made lamb magic all day. Our main floor booth featured a partnership with Bellingham’s Aslan Brewing -- a scoop of ACME Ultra Premium Vanilla Bean Ice Cream topped with Aslan coffee stout for a float of pure bliss. Both stations had lines like you wouldn’t believe showing, once again, that ice cream offers a refreshing change from savory dishes and adult beverages.
We were honored to participate in Seattle Business Magazine’s second annual Daring Women conference on May 21 held at Block 41. The all-day event brought together a fearless group of women across industries for inspiring talks on the challenges and triumphs of life and business. It culminated in a cocktail hour where we celebrated these women with ACME Ultra Premium Ice Cream Quarter Pounder cups served with compostable sample spoons. Having our own female CEO Erin Fray at the event to share her own journey with customers was like the cherry on top.
HAGGEN TO HAGGEN 5K:
Organized and presented by Haggen Northwest Fresh and the Greater Bellingham Running Club (GBRC), Haggen to Haggen 5k Run and Walk was held Saturday, May 4. This certified 5k begins at Sehome Haggen, winds through several neighborhoods including downtown Bellingham, and ends at Meridian Haggen. Proceeds of the race support GBRC scholarship funding and provide shoe vouchers to low income high school athletes. Acme Ice Cream was located right at the finish line allowing us to hand out close to 1,000 samples of Mint Chocolate Chip, Vanilla Bean, Strawberry, and Dark Chocolate flavors.
